Insurance approved systems

The Motor Insurance Repair Research Centre is an organisation in Thatcham that is used by the insurance industry to conduct tests on vehicles and security systems. Thatcham Category 1 is the highest standard of car security and is an alarm and immobiliser system. Thatcham Category 2 is an immobiliser only. The fitting of one of these approved systems may entitle you to a reduced insurance premium.

As well as the systems being accredited by Thatcham we, as installers, also have to be checked and approved by the Vehicle Systems Installation Board (VSIB). WTCR have been a VSIB accredited company since 1995 when VSIB was first introduced.
