With the very good security systems now being fitted by the car manufacturers and after market systems being much better, it is increasingly difficult for thieves to steal cars.

Vehicle tracking is becoming ever more popular with the insurance companies. In fact most insurance companies will insist on a tracking system if the car is valued at over £50,000.

Category 5

Cat 5 is a new category for stolen vehicle tracking systems. Manufacturers will have to meet strict criteria for their After Market Systems. Installers will need to match new criteria and all employees security screened to BS7875 and have received specific product training. Secure Operating Centres (SOCs) will only activate listed Cat 5 systems installed by accredited installers.

Cat 5 systems are available from April 2005 and WCR are pleased to be accredited Cat 5 installers.
